Citizen of the Year Award Given to Shannon Currence

Medford, OK The Grant County Citizen of the Year Award was given to Shannon Currence from the Grant County Health Department on June 9th.

This award reflected her hard work and dedication which was displayed in her job as the Clerk at the Grant County Health Department as well as in the community. Her expertise on the Health Educator Board is a great asset. The care that she takes in making sure our community is safe and that people are well informed of upcoming weather and health issues is exceptional. Shannon serves the Grant County community with diligence and professionalism.

Shannon was nominated for this award by Carla Dionne, Todd Hladik, and Jen Rand. The nomination was reviewed and approved by the Grant County LEPC as well as the Grant County Commissioners.

About Grant County Awards Program

Grant County began its Awards Program last year. This is the first year that the County has given the Citizen of the Year Award. Grant County will open up nominations for the awards program at the beginning of each year. The awards that are possible to be given are the Citizen of the Year Award, Letter of Commendation, Public Safety Cross, Purple Heart, and the Meritorious Service Medal.

The nominations go to the Grant County LEPC for review and then finally go to the Grant County Commissioners for final approval.
